So I looked up a likely treasure, packed my bag, and drove out to Devil's River and hiked from the limestone rock formations down to the River. There I found something strange. The message board had said that my treasure was in a cat, but there was no way I expected to see Bel down here! But there she was, cool as a cucumber, just chillin' in the rocky beach area. I picked her up, just to notice that was not all! Placed inside the unlikely puppet was a piece of plastic sushi and a coupon to the conveyer sushi place I like to go. Score!

Like a good geocatcher, this hands-on adventurer is ready for any type of terrain and situation! It doesn't matter if it's raining or shining, she will always have fun getting wet, making new animal friends and witnessing beautiful landscapes! Sometimes the area to explore is so extensive that she can spend hours looking for her treasure! Little did she know that the treasure was right under a vine swing that was in the middle of the forest... in the midst of the woods she finds... how cute and shining! Aware that there are newbie geocatchers exploring the area, she decides to leave something useful for them on their adventure!

We played our charcters and were talking about the sacred treasure, which we were going to discover. There were something hidden under the fallen tree. And there were this ... that got us.

It's a hot August day as I set off on a hike into the hills in search of a mysterious little treasure. As I navigate toward the GPS coordinates, I wonder about what sort of interesting trinkets I'll find in the cache. Probably some inexpensive but pretty tumbled stones or maybe a unique pin or patch to put on my backpack. It's a longer trek than I expected and the sun is low in the sky by the time I finally reach the spot. I see a tall stump up ahead and hurry towards it...that must be it! But when I get there, I don't find any sort of loot container, but rather some creepy little grave markers guarded by a zombie gnome and surrounded by tiny pumpkins. It's a bit early for Morostide and I'm not sure if this is really a geocache or if it's an actual gravesite. But these are the right coordinates. I poke around and find that one of the pumpkins is actually a toy on a lanyard. This must be the "treasure" after all! I look around warily before taking the lanyard, feeling watched (did that gnome just move?). Then I rummage through my collection of trinkets to find just the right one to leave behind. This little golden flower will be perfect. I place it next to one of the tombstones and try to hurry back down the hill before nightfall. What a weird cache. And now I'm already looking forward to Morostide!
